Regional Executive Seminar 2007 in Kuala Lumpur |
|
|
On 9 March 2007, The Tricor Group held its 3rd Regional Executive Seminar. In appreciation of staff contribution to the company in the past year, the management brought all executives to a Putrajaya resort hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the seminar. With over 180 executives from our various country practices attending the event, co-ordination was a major challenge. Thanks to our competent organising committee and helpful colleagues from Tricor Malaysia, the event was a huge success! The seminar kicked off with Julian Chow, Group Managing Director, extending a warm welcome to all Tricorians and introducing the theme of the seminar. Johnny Ng, Group Chief Executive, began the business reporting with an overview of the Group's performance and developments in 2006/07. Directors of our country practices followed with reports of the past year's results and outlook for the future. With these presentations, executives obtained an excellent picture of the overall performance of the Group. Tricor Thailand, in particular, brought its office operations to life with a most creative and entertaining video presentation, complete with beautiful background music. Following on from last year's theme of 'Career in a Healthy Lifestyle', this year we were introduced to another theme: 'Managing your Emotions'. We were delighted to have Dr. Allen Teh Keat Beng from the Centre for Customer Care (CCC), Malaysia sharing with us his research and findings on managing emotions as foundation to team success, and helping us to understand our Emotional Intelligence (EQ) profile. Another highlight of the event was the activities programme. Classes were offered to executives, covering massage in different styles, glass Mosaic painting, batik painting, Kompang, Silat and Malaysian cooking. The best performer in each activity received an award. If we had voted for the best part of the event, undoubtedly this would have been the grand opening to the banquet. As the country host, Tricor Malaysia did a remarkable job in planning a most delicious dinner with accompanying cultural music and spectacular dance performances. The vibrant designs and colours of the costumes of our Malaysian performers were indeed an eye-opener for us all. Thank you, Tricor Malaysia, for your hospitality!
